Dale Morris is
stepping down as artistic director of 6th @ Penn
Theatre as of April 1, 2008. Actor, playwright,
director, Matt Thompson will assume the post at
that time. Matt will also be the artistic
director of the Resilience of the Spirit
Festival 2008. Dale Morris has led the theatre
for seven years through ups, downs, good times,
and turbulent times – he will remain as
executive producer, board member, and business manager. He
will spend more time trying to return to acting
and to writing plays. Dale feels that the
addition of Matt Thompson will bring on a new
theatrical vitality with San Diego audiences and
a new day-to-day artistic partnership with the
actors and directors of San Diego. More about

Michael Thomas
Tower has been named Playwright in Residence and
Artistic Director of New Works Programs for 6th
@ Penn Theatre. An all-around theatre artist,
Michael is presently artistic director of the
6th @ Penn
QPLAY SERIES
and
CHALLENGE THEATRE.
After 22 years writing plays and an off-Broadway
production, Michael is happy to bring his
creative resources to 6th @ Penn in more
involved way and looks forward to the challenge.
Two of his works (both musicals) will soon
appear in the qplays series. More about

Long-time San
Diego Theatre Scene Board Officer Doug Hoehn will be
leaving us as of July 1, 2008 to concentrate on
building his own theatre company. He will be
missed. We're looking to replace Doug as
Secretary - if you are interested please contact
